What are those characteristics?
The main ones are the waves. We have a country with plenty of right-hand waves, which are the waves that surf tourism seeks. We have flora and fauna, as can be seen in the illustrations: crabs, which are the typical little animals one finds on the beach; the whale, which only comes certain months to our coast, but tourists enjoy the experience of going on boats in search of the whale, and so do surfers.
The surfer seeks an outdoor experience, and that is what is reflected in my drawings; hence La Libertad (department), which is the name of our main surfing coast, and that is why La Libertad is sought to be represented in the illustration where several surfers can be seen looking for their favorite wave, the beach animals, the horizon. We have beautiful sunrises and sunsets in our country.
What techniques did you use in the illustrations and how were they applied inside the airplane?
What I did was first hand-design the drawings, then digitize them to be printed on vinyl. All the overhead compartments were dismantled from the plane and vinyl was applied one after the other, creating harmony so that along the row of every overhead compartment, passengers could enjoy the eight illustrations, and then they start repeating to form a single set; and the tables where one eats also have an illustration with the logos of the brands and a QR code, where people can see Brand Country El Salvador and go to the Tourism page.
